В Нижнем Новгороде прошло региональное совещание по вопросам профилактики и борьбе с полиомиелитом

23  10.2025 The regional meeting "Implementation of Measures to Maintain the Polio-Free Status of the Russian Federation. Enterovirus (Non-polio) Infection – Epidemiological Situation, Surveillance, and Prevention" was held on October 22-23, 2025.

The event was attended by over 130 people from 43 regions of the Russian Federation. Leading specialists from the Coordination Center for the Prevention of Poliomyelitis and Enterovirus (Non-polio) Infections of the Federal Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor (Rospotrebnadzor), the Chumakov Institute of Poliomyelitis of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Polio Institute), the Pasteur Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology, the I.N. Blokhina Novosibirsk Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology, and representatives of Rospotrebnadzor's regional offices presented their reports. The results of current poliovirus surveillance and genotyping of non-polio enteroviruses were discussed.

An important topic of discussion was the interaction and collaboration between the Institute's Reference Center for Enterovirus Monitoring and Rospotrebnadzor's practical specialists. The meeting was an important part of improving epidemiological surveillance for polio and non-polio enterovirus infections.
