An institute employee took part in the work of the "Far North and Human Health" section as a member of the jury.

On April 10, 2026, the open research competition "Fyodorov Readings" was held among senior students at Lyceum No. 8 named after Academician E.K. Fedorov. The founders of the competition were the Nizhny Novgorod city administration, Lyceum No. 8 named after Academician E.K. Fedorov, the All-Russian public organization "Russian Geographical Society," the Academician E.K. Fedorov Institute of Applied Geophysics, and others.
The goal of the competition is to increase student engagement in research and project activities in the field of resource-saving technologies, conservation and protection of Far North ecosystems, aimed at environmental education, personal development, professional self-determination, and improving the level of scientific, humanitarian, and technical literacy of the younger generation.
A total of 18 breakout sessions were held during the readings, and students presented 113 papers for the competition. Oleg Vladimirovich Utkin, Leading Researcher and Head of the Molecular Biology and Biotechnology Laboratory at the I.N. Blokhina Nizhny Novgorod Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology of the Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing, served as a jury member in the "Far North and Human Health. Preventive Medicine" section. The jury members noted the high scientific level of the speakers.
