VIII National Congress of Bacteriologists was held in Moscow

28  09.2023 On September 27-28, 2023, in accordance with the Order of the head of Rospotrebnadzor dated March 20, 2023 No. 122, the VIII National Congress of Bacteriologists (Congress) was held in Moscow. The organizers of the event were the State Scientific Center for Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology of Rospotrebnadzor and the Association Scientific and Practical Society of Bacteriologists, co-founded by the Federal Budgetary Institution NNIIEM named after. Academician I.N. Blokhina Rospotrebnadzor (Institute).

At the opening, welcoming words were addressed to the Congress from the head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare - Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Anna Yurievna Popova.

The Director of the Institute, Doctor of Medical Sciences, took part in the work of the Congress. Zaitseva Natalya Nikolaevna, making a welcoming speech as a member of the Presidium of the Congress.

The event took place in person, which was attended by about 500 participants from all regions of Russia, as well as Uzbekistan.
During the two days of the event, 9 breakout sessions were held, at which the problems of laboratory diagnosis of infections were discussed, incl. common to humans and animals and the use of modern technologies; state of the problem and directions of research in the field of drug resistance of pathogens and their resistance to disinfectants; current issues of sanitary-bacteriological research and development of cultural methods in the practical work of medical laboratories; as well as issues of regulatory and methodological support for work in the field of medical microbiology.

On September 27, 2023, on the first day of the Congress, a general meeting of the Association “National Scientific and Practical Society of Bacteriologists” was held. Director of the Institute Doctor of Medical Sciences Zaitseva N.N. and head Laboratory of Human Microbiome and Means of Its Correction, Doctor of Biological Sciences. Solovyova I.V. were elected Members of the Association Council.
