Students of Nizhny Novgorod universities undergo training at the Institute

26  08.2024 During August 2024, students from the Institute of Biology and Biomedicine of the National Research Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod completed their industrial training at the Institute.

The students' industrial practice took place at the laboratory of metagenomics and molecular indication of pathogens under the supervision of the leading researcher, candidate of biological sciences A.E. Alekseeva. During the practice, the students mastered the methods of sample preparation of bacterial strain DNA samples for whole-genome sequencing on the BGI DNBSEQ-G50RS sequencer platform, and also mastered the main stages of bioinformatics analysis of sequencing results. The results of the study of bacterial genomes obtained during the practice will serve as the basis for writing coursework and final qualifying works of a bachelor.
