The head of the Volga District Center for the Prevention and Control of AIDS of the Institute, E.E. Kuzovatova, presented a report on the detection of HIV infection among various population groups in the Volga Federal District in 2024.

The conference was attended by employees of the Federal Budgetary Institution of Science NNIIEM named after Academician I.N. Blokhina of Rospotrebnadzor. Elena Efimovna Kuzovatova, Head of the Volga District Center for the Prevention and Control of AIDS, devoted her report to the problem of covering the population with effective screening for HIV infection. The maximum detection of people with HIV infection and their further involvement in healthcare services is one of the important tasks on the way to achieving the goals of the Strategy. In 2024, the coverage of the population with HIV testing in the Volga Federal District was 36.4%, the target indicator of the Strategy was achieved. The frequency of detection of HIV infection among tested residents of the Volga Federal District (0.14%) continued the downward trend, being the lowest since 2011. The issues discussed at the conference aroused keen interest among the participants.
