Winners of school biology olympiads in the Nizhny Novgorod region visited the institute

08  12.2025 On December 8, 2025, a meeting was held between participants of the winter school for the Olympiad training of the Nizhny Novgorod region national biology teams and the institute staff.

The meeting was held as part of the Decade of Science and Technology declared by the President of Russia. Events under the "Open Doors to Science Day" project continue.

The institute was visited by Nizhny Novgorod schoolchildren, winners of regional stages of the Biology Olympiad, and participants of the winter school for Olympiad training of Nizhny Novgorod region national biology teams, which operates at the Vega Regional Center for Identifying, Supporting, and Developing Abilities and Talents in Children and Youth. The goal of the meeting was to attract talented young people to scientific research and development.

During the meeting, the schoolchildren spoke with the institute's director, who described the institute's contribution to ensuring anti-epidemic protection for the country's population and the history of its development as a multidisciplinary research complex.

The young biologists from the region visited scientific laboratories and learned about the fundamentals of scientific organization, modern laboratory equipment, and the institute's latest developments in microbiology, virology, immunology, and molecular biology. The students interacted with leading scientists and young specialists from the institute and received answers to all their questions.
