The 79th All-Russian Conference of Young Scientists with International Participation, "Biosystems: Organization, Behavior, Control," was held from March 24 to 27, 2026. The conference brought together undergraduate and graduate students, and young researchers from 35 cities across Russia and abroad. Representatives from Russia, Belarus, and Tajikistan participated, emphasizing the interregional and international nature of the scientific forum.

The conference was organized into eight sections, including seven research areas and a separate section for schools. Participants presented oral presentations and posters on a wide range of topics, from biodiversity and sustainable ecosystem development to molecular biology, bioinformatics, and fundamental medicine.

A competition for young scientists' scientific papers was held as part of the conference. Anastasia Aleksandrovna Novoselova, Junior Researcher, Laboratory of Viral Hepatitis Epidemiology, Nizhny Novgorod Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology named after Academician I.N. Rospotrebnadzor's Blokhina Institute of Microbiology and Virology presented a poster presentation on "Results of Screening for Hepatitis B and D Virus Markers in the Nizhny Novgorod Region Population" in the "Microbiology and Virology" section. The presentation generated considerable interest among a group of experts and young scientists.

Professor Viktor Vladimirovich Novikov, Head of the Institute's Immunochemistry Laboratory, Doctor of Biological Sciences, chaired the expert committee for the oral presentation competition on March 25 as part of the "Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics" section. During the plenary session, he presented a paper entitled "Virus-Like Particles as the Basis for Innovative Vaccines." Immunochemistry Laboratory staff members, including Dmitry Viktorovich Novikov, PhD, and Maria Igorevna Tsyganova, PhD, also actively participated in the expert committee.
