On-line seminar-conference "Mass spectrometry and prospects of its application in the field of microbiology and epidemiology"
20  09.2019
On September 20, an on-line seminar-conference "Mass spectrometry and prospects for its application in the field of microbiology and epidemiology" was organized by the Councils of young scientists of seven scientific institutions of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare.

From our institute, 11 employees took part in the seminar. At the seminar-conference, 11 reports were presented on the problems of identification and intraspecific differentiation of microorganisms using mass spectrometry, the role of mass spectrometry in the monitoring system of infectious and parasitic diseases, the creation, standardization and implementation of databases of proteomic profiles of strains of pathogens of dangerous infections, as well as improving the regulatory framework. From Blokhina Scientific Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology of Nizhny Novgorod with a report "Using the method of mass spectrometry in the epidemiological investigation of outbreaks of foodborne toxico-infections" was made by a senior researcher of the laboratory of human microbiome and means of its correction, Ph.D. Belova Irina Viktorovna.
During the discussion of reports, the successful experience of using mass spectrometric methods in the epidemiological investigation of outbreaks of foodborne diseases was pinted out, demonstrating the potential of this method in the field of molecular epidemiology.
