The foundations of sanitary and epidemiological surveillance have been laid for decades. The creation of an independent sanitary service and specialized sanitary and preventive institutions on the territory of the Russian Federation was initiated by the decree of the Council of People's Commissars of the RSFSR dated September 15, 1922 "On the sanitary bodies of the Republic", which defined the tasks and functions of sanitary bodies, their structure and competence, confirmed their state nature. It is September 15 that is celebrated annually as the birthday of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Service.
We sincerely wish all of you who invest so much work in ensuring the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population of our country, high achievements, professional self-realization, well-being, health and happiness!
