The Importance of Preventive Vaccination Discussed at the Institute’s Infectious Diseases Clinic
26  10.2026
On 14 and 26 October 2026, educational sessions on the role of preventive vaccination in infectious disease control were held for day-care patients at the Institute’s Infectious Diseases Clinic.

The sessions were conducted by I.V. Shutova, PhD, infectious disease physician and Head of the Infectious Diseases Department. A total of 23 patients took part.

Participants were informed about the importance of immunisation, how vaccines work, and their role in developing specific immunity. Particular attention was given to the ability of vaccination to prevent disease, reduce the risk of severe infection and limit its spread.

The sessions also covered the main components of vaccines, immunity following natural infection, and why vaccination may still be recommended after recovery from certain infectious diseases.

At the end of the sessions, participants asked questions about vaccination schedules and the National Immunisation Schedule.
