Flu and ARVI Prevention Discussed at the Sanprosvet Lecture Series

27  10.2026 On 27 October 2026, three educational sessions on influenza, acute respiratory viral infections and vaccination were held for older patients at the Institute’s Infectious Diseases Clinic.

The sessions were conducted by infectious disease physician and Head of Department I.V. Shutova, PhD. A total of 15 patients aged 60 years and older took part.

Participants were informed about the key differences between influenza and other acute respiratory viral infections, as well as the role of vaccination in developing specific immunity and reducing the risk of severe disease and complications.

Particular attention was given to general preventive measures against respiratory infections and to appropriate actions when symptoms develop.

At the end of the sessions, participants were able to ask questions and received information leaflets with recommendations on what to do if symptoms of a respiratory infection occur.

The sessions were held as part of Rospotrebnadzor’s educational project, the Sanprosvet Lecture Series.
